A quick trick to spot toilet leaks

The first place a plumber would look for “invisible plumbing leaks” is your toilets. It is the most typical place for leaks. A leaky toilet can waste a significant amount of water ranging from 30 gallons per day or more. Here’s an easy way to see if it’s leaking.
  1. If you’re hearing your toilet running, or notice an increase in water usage, an easy way to narrow down the issue is buying a toilet leak detection kit or even just using food coloring. You put either the tab or dye into your toilet tank and it will let you know if you have a leak.

  2. Take the lid off your toilet tank and drop the tab or dye in

  3. After 10 minutes, check your toilet bowl and see if there is any color

  4. If so, you now know you have a leak and you should call Grant & Sons or a licensed plumber to address the problem.
